Introduction
I favour longer focal lengths for landscape shots as they allow me me to isolate details and compress images. I often explore quiter and lesser-known locations, avoiding the overly photographed areas and the extremely irritating tourists. Saying “Hiya” and fake smiling every 5 minutes can really drain the battery. Although, there will be many familiar lanscapes that you may recognise. I lean towards landscape photography as it encourages me to travel around Scotland. It allows me to be in nature more often. It is freeing. Solitude is part of what makes landscape photography rewarding for me.
